Meet the Satellite Zone Artists
Endi Shani
Bio
Endi Shani (born January 12, 2002) is a conceptual artist based between Durrës and Tirana, Albania. She graduated from the University of Arts in Tirana with a Master’s degree in Multimedia in 2025, and became part of Satellite Zone as one of the artists. She has participated in a number of exhibition projects in Albania and Europe, featuring young Albanian artists on the international art stage.
Recently, she is part of Creative Industries Agency Tirana, where she has been curating and executing multiple exhibitions and film screenings for young national visual artists and independent film directors, focusing on their networking and promotion. As an artist, Endi works across various media, including video art, kinetic installation, sculpture, and mixed media. The artistic identity is in a fluid form, consisting of strong personal situations, extended into social themes as well as historical phenomena, interwined with visionary reflections on the past and the future.
Some of the exhibitions she has participated are: Nowhere, Everywhere to Go (Frankfurt Art Weekend), Tipping Point (Kalo Gallery), Profiles (Agimi Art Center), Point of View | UP UP UP (Tirana Art Weekend) etc.
Despite experimentation with various techniques, both traditional (painting, sculpture, etc.) and modern (digital techniques, kinetics, etc.), it can be said that artistic expression occupies a good territory in the language of video, site-specific and installations (still or kinetic) dressed and worked roughly on metal, aluminum, etc., intertwined with moving mechanisms that seem to give life to the merely cold objects.
The themes she touches on most are related to human nature and its situations and conflicts, social and historical themes. Regardless of the form, the visual language expressed, the scenario or the tools used, the works tend to have at least one positive element, visible or slightly visible, while they are mainly placed opposite violent or skeptical elements, depending on the poetry that underlies the work.
